In 1998, during morning prayer and meditation for America, the vision for Pray 180 for 180 was given. In a state of reverential awe, the vision was written down, knowing it was for an appointed time yet to come. Though it tarried for nearly two decades, it has been birthed for such a time as this.

The pillars of American culture are all under attack. Family, Church, Education, Business, Government, Media and Arts / Entertainment. Everyday we are fighting legal battles over the definition of marriage, the freedom of religion and speech, for Christ followers to keep their jobs or small businesses, for our children’s education, and against government overreach in every area of our lives.

The state of our nation is one of unrest. It seems every day brings more unsettling news. People say they are expecting something to happen, they just don’t know what it is. Serious people are asking, “If things are this bad today, what will the future be like for the nation, my children and grandchildren?”

If we look at current world events through the lens of scripture, then we can clearly see the disasters — be they environmental, social, financial or spiritual — are all warnings from God that the end of human history is near.

Dr. Billy Graham has stated, “There is but one power available to redeem the course of events, and that is the power of prayer by God-fearing, Christ-believing people.”

There are 31,103 verses in the Holy Bible. But only ONE verse in all of the Scripture tells a nation “how” they can be healed! That is 2 Chronicles 7:14. We should note it is God speaking:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. NKJV

God has made a conditional promise here that is the Divine Antidote! He is no respecter or people or nations. Any nation that reverences God shall be blessed. Any nation that rejects God shall be cursed.

Sadly, many people who call themselves “Christians” do not know how to pray — so they rarely reach up to God except when there is crisis in their lives. The extent of their prayer life is at church on Sunday or occasionally over a meal. Many see setting aside the time to pray as an invincible hurdle and so they never make an effort. Still... the need exists for every child of God to connect to their Heavenly Father every day. So there must be a God-inspired strategy to achieve that need. Everyone can learn to pray — maybe not in a week, but little by little.

Our mission is to build a network that will produce a praying nation whose God is the Lord by enlisting, teaching and motivating members how to talk with their Heavenly Father at least 3 minutes a day and to effectively reproduce by each member enlisting three new persons.

Our purpose is to encourage people to talk with God on a daily basis and to make them understand repentance is not a scary word! In fact, the Bible teaches repentance brings times of refreshing from the Lord.

What if we give 180 seconds (3 minutes) per day to prayers of repentance and seeking God’s face for a 180 in America? If we do this, God has promised to hear our prayers, forgive our sin and heal our land.

We believe in the full inerrancy of Scripture; in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; in the virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, physical resurrection and visible, personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ; in salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ; in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit expressed in His fruit, gifts and power; in New Testament evangelism, consecrated Christian living, the local church, the ministry of reconciliation and the urgency of fulfilling the Great Commission.
